Graham Dixon
Licensed Professional Counselor
I was born and raised in England, but have lived most of my life in America. Married with two teenage children, three dogs, two cats and a backyard turtle that we found on the road with a broken shell. Superglued her shell together (literally) and she resides under our deck, coming out to eat every evening.
My counseling philosophy? Even with technological marvels, the modern world often places undue stress on individuals that can lead to more serious conditions like anxiety, depression and relationship problems. Professional counseling identifies routes toward greater happiness and fulfillment, together with alleviating mental health conditions that can become very serious if left untreated. Whether you are experiencing depressive symptoms, anxiety, marriage/relationship difficulties, addiction or any other stresses I offer a caring, sensitive environment for exploration and resolution. Cognitive-behavioral therapy is evidence-based and enables clients to see that what happens to us is not necessarily the most important aspect of life. It is what we believe about what happens to us that is vital.
Counseling is second career for me. Previously I was a Theatre professor - that is what my Ph.D. is in. I use elements of Drama Therapy within my practice.
